Math 5 - Saxon Transition

School Year (September 8, 2026 to May 28, 2027)

Math 5 - Saxon Transition is designed to prepare students for the recommended grade level at Veritas, strengthening students’ foundation in key math concepts, ensuring they are well equipped for Math 6 Saxon Pre-Algebra (Saxon Algebra ½)., focusing on whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and early algebra skills. Students will practice problem-solving, strengthen mental math, and explore patterns in numbers, illustrating the logical and structured nature of God. This course also introduces key concepts in geometry, measurement, and probability to prepare students for pre-algebra. With clear instruction and steady practice, Math 5 - Saxon Transition gives students the confidence and skills they need for success as they progress in their math studies. Homework will average 2 - 3 hours per week, reinforcing concepts and encouraging independent learning.

Prerequisites

Minimum age of 10 and maximum age of 13 on the first day of class. Successful completion of VSA Mathematics 4 - Saxon 65 or comparable course in the previous 24 months is strongly encouraged.
