Statistics
School Year (September 8, 2026 to May 28, 2027)
Students will focus on developing statistical thinking and the use of basic statistical concepts using modern computer-based practices. Emphasis is on concepts using modern technology-based practices, with emphasis on statistical concepts. Topics include sampling and experimentation, descriptive statistics, probability, binomial and normal distributions, estimation, single sample and two sample hypothesis tests for means and proportions. Real up-to-date data and examples using current events will be used. It is intended to develop students into consistent statistical thinkers. Prerequisites
Minimum age of 15 on the first day of class. Successful completion of VSA Algebra II or comparable course in the previous 24 months is strongly encouraged.
