Calculus II

This second course in calculus broadens and deepens the understanding of this beautiful subject begun in Calculus I. Class size is limited to twelve students to allow more extensive presentation time and individual attention. Following a review of concepts studied in Calculus I, this course focuses on infinite series and power series representations of functions; a detailed study of parametric equations and polar coordinates, and application to the classical study of conics. Students will begin to generalize to higher dimensions with basic vector material and the theory of vector-valued functions, and then introduce functions of several variables and partial differentiation. Finally, the course embarks on a discussion of multiple integration and vector analysis. This course is an AP Calculus BC course, approved by the College Board, and is eligible for dual enrollment credit for junior and senior students. Homework will average 3 - 5 hours per week.
