Chess Club
We are pleased to join with Chess4Life to bring the development of life skills through chess to our students. Become part of a growing group of over 25,000 students from beginners to more than a dozen national champions. That's the success that Chess4Life has had over the years, and VSA is thrilled to partner with them. After playing warm up games for 15-20 minutes, expect a lesson discussing opening principles, tactics, general strategies, or checkmate patterns. Then you will do an activity or game focused on that specific lesson. Next, a shorter second lesson will be taught, followed by a time dedicated to games where students are encouraged to take their time, think carefully, and play their best. Knowing how chess pieces move and capture is your first step to success in this engaging club experience.
