Photography Club

The purpose of this club is to introduce students to basic camera skills such as shooting in various modes and conditions. They will learn proper terminology and experiment with various techniques while working on photographing people, animals, landscapes, and more. Each student will develop a wider understanding of how their personal camera works and increase their passion in, knowledge of, and skill level for taking pictures. This club works with the Journalism Club in providing pictures to publish in articles for VSA. A showcase video of the best work from each student is shown at the End of the Year Gathering. Each meeting begins with a review and critique of all the homework assignments turned in, and then moves on to the new lesson using samples photos and short how-to videos. A new challenge is discussed and given at the end of each meeting and students work on taking those photographs outside of class. This class may be taken several times as skill levels improve and more challenges are introduced.
