Jonathan Stewart

Stewart_jonathan_faculty Jonathan Stewart has been teaching secondary students for over a decade. Most recently, he taught Logic, Geometry, and Proverbs at Veritas School in Richmond, Virginia – a flagship school in the classical Christian movement. Additionally, and most pertinently, Jonathan was an instructor at VSA prior to returning to graduate school for a time, guiding students through Logic I, Logic II, and Associate Logic. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from St. John’s College (Annapolis). At St. John’s, he was a fellow of the Hodson Trust Scholarship and won The 2018 Most Distinguished Tutorial Essay Prize. He also earned a B.A. in Philosophy and a minor in mathematics from Grove City College. Jonathan does not like cats, even though his wife and two daughters have convinced him of their elegance and serenity. He does, however, like writing, implementing memory palaces, and reading about media ecology (and Plato). When not thumbing through the Great Books series and feeling inadequate by comparison, he uses YouTube to make average car repairs and become an above-average cook (at least he thinks so). Jonathan believes VSA occupies a pivotal space in which students, teachers, and like-minded parents can honor Christ with their hearts and minds.
