Mei-Ning Langworthy
Mei-Ning Langworthy graduated as valedictorian of Lincoln Academy and later with high honors from the Wheaton Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a minor in Third World Studies. Mei-Ning was raised in a Christian home, and she dedicated her life to the full service of Christ in high school. She taught piano privately for six years following graduation before fully committing her time to homeschool her four children. During her 18 years of homeschooling, she developed a passion for teaching history, government, Christian worldview, and classical studies. Mei-Ning has experience teaching history, government, and multi-disciplinary humanities courses at the Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric levels to her own four children, and she has taught in both a live classical classroom environment as well as a K-12 online classical setting. She has taught history and multi-disciplinary courses with Merrymeeting Homeschool League in Topsham, Maine since 2015. Above all else, Mei-Ning desires to see her students grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus Christ. She aims to help students integrate the Christian faith with their academic learning and become better communicators in the public square through focused exercises in reading, writing, thinking, and speaking. Mei-Ning is passionate about engaging with her students in a personal way and hopes to encourage curiosity and passion for learning through the lens of God’s created order. She is happy to call Maine her home. She is married to Bob Langworthy, an accountant and enthusiastic reader. When Mei-Ning is not teaching her youngest two children at home or in the classroom, she can be found training in long distance running, hosting small group Bible studies, playing the piano at her church, or in search of the perfect cup of coffee. She attends Cornerstone Baptist Church in Topsham, Maine.
