Ed Stengel
Edward Stengel is a published scholar of history and literature, an experienced Christian Apologist, as well as a world traveling accredited teacher of primary, middle years, and Spanish International Baccalaureate curriculum. Mr. Stengel holds a BA in Primary Education and Spanish Language from Southwest Baptist University as well as an MA in Literary and Historical Christian Apologetics from Houston Baptist University. His specific field of scholarship is in the Theology of History, a field that has led him to studying under celebrated Inklings and Shakespeare scholar Holly Ordway of Houston Baptist University as well as CS Lewis expert Michael Ward and Medieval Literature specialist Eleanor Parker at the University of Oxford. Edward is a content provider for Transpositions, the academic journal of the Institute of Theology, Imagination, and the Arts at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as well as An Unexpected Journal, an independent academic journal focusing on the work of the Inklings (CS Lewis, Tolkien, etc.). His published works focus on the Christian apologetic value of the writings of Shakespeare, Lewis, Tolkien, and Chesterton. Mr. Stengel has physically taught in four different countries: El Colegio de La Salle in Peru, The Weablueau and Bolivar Public School Systems in the USA, The University of Hubei in China, and the International Baccalaureate School of Hope and Light (Sekolah Pelita Harapan) in Indonesia. Outside of academia he is a professional singer-songwriter playing the banjo, guitar, Irish penny Whistle, and the piano with the indie folk group Pawns or Kings. He is also a deep lover of mountain hiking adventures, medieval literature, Christian Theology, Nordic mythology, Newcastle United Soccer Club, and most importantly his wife Rebecca with whom he resides in Bolivar, Missouri.
